CX RO Cleaner Plus is an alkaline based RO membrane cleaner for contaminants like oil, organic matter, silica scales and biological slimes and films from RO/NF/UF membranes. CX RO Clean Down also contains organic dispersants that help break down colloidal clay deposits and impart better efficacy to biocides by penetrating into films.

How to Use
CX RO Cleaner Plus should be diluted with permeate water to prepare a working solution of 5- 10 % v/v. This solution should be re-circulated through the membranes for 30 mins – 1 hour (including a soak time of 15 – 30 mins) and flush out the system with permeate water till equal pH is achieved at both ends of pass.
Note: Shake solution well before use. Replace the solution with new one if the cleaning solution becomes severely fouled and turbid. In multi-pass systems, best results can be achieved if each pass is individually cleaned. For severely fouled or choked membrane a higher concentration up to 20% v/v should be used followed with cleaning with CX RO Cleaner (Low pH membrane cleaner) for cleaning of inorganic, scales and mineral deposits from membrane system.
What causes scaling in RO systems?
Scaling is caused in membranes because the level of hardness salts in the water becomes highly concentrated as it passes through the RO system. In smaller systems, scale formation can be prevented by base exchange softening the make-up water but for larger systems that is very expensive.
How RO antiscalant chemical works?
RO Antiscalants increase the solubility of the salts so they remain in solution rather than forming scales on the membrane surface. Our cost-effective CX RO antiscalant range will inhibit a wide range of foulants including calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate, barium sulphate, strontium sulphate, calcium fluoride, silica and iron.
